Removing special finishes
GreenLight can quickly and accurately remove the required layers and swatches for one or more print special finishes.
Special finishes are extra design embellishments often used on book covers including foils, embossing, diecutting and varnishes. They are represented in InDesign by the use of spot colour swatches on dedicated layers of the same name.
Selecting special finishes when creating covers with GreenLight Create menu > Create Cover or by using the command GreenLight Create menu > Add Special Finishes will ensure they are applied quickly, correctly and consistently.
Tip: To swap rather than remove a foil or brass special finish use the GreenLight Create menu > Swap Foil / Brass reference command
Special finish layers are individually checked and exported as Print ready PDFs to publisher requirements. Another benefit of using GreenLight for consistent file setup is the ability to quickly and completely reverse this process.
